These first generation Camaro's were available from 1967-1969, and 34,411 of cars produced were SS optioned. The SS option package consisted of a 350 or 396 V8, chassis upgrades to handle the power and produce better handeling, special striping and SS badging. This Camaro began its life on the production plant in Van Nuys, California, and was then delivered to Hawaii. The family of the current owner purchased it from Hawaii as a project car and imported it in 1971. Once moved to Australia, the car was fitted with a period-correct 283ci Chevrolet small block V8 and a turbo 350 3 speed automatic transmission. It was converted to RHD not long after moving to Australia and has stayed in the same family. Other work done to the car includes new front seats, a new roof thats in great condition, new mufflers and extended tail pipes, bush kits throughout, fuel pump and water pump. The Camaro's original Granada Gold paint with black SS stripes remains untouched and presents wonderfully for the age of the vehicle. A decent file of reciepts show that the car has been well maintained over the years, with all servicing being done by the owner. This is a gorgeous car and great value for money.
