This 1967 Ford Falcon XRGT is a nicely restored car that you can just get in and drive. The XR GT was launched in April 1967 to compete with other models hitting the track at Bathurst, taking the best parts of the Police Pursuit vehicles and putting more horsepower under the bonnet. There is debate on how many XRGT's were made, though numbers seem to be between 596 to 684, which is undeniably a rare car regardless. The XR was the first Australian Falcon available with a V8 engine, and though the motor is not original to this car, it is a period-correct 289 Windsor which was dropped in the car only 500kms ago. This is paired with the Ford Toploader 4 speed manual transmission. All of these GT's except the first 10 were only available in GT Gold with the charcoal interior, both of which are in lovely condition. The current owner purchased the car from Tasmania and has possessed the car for the last 20 years in which they have spent lots of money to get it to a turn-key standard. This includes a new water pump, radiator, carburettor, brake booster, wiper motor, distributor and slave master. A must have for the Ford collectors in wonderful condition.
