The last of the Australian-built Holden V8s, the VF-model Director is one of three limited-edition final models from the local General Motors outpost. The SS-V based Motorsport, the Magnum Ute and the Calais-based flagship Director model were significant because they represented the 15th and final iteration of the Australian-made Commodore, before GM switched to importation of a Opel-based front-drive design (the ZB). Just 360 of these Directors were built, each of them numbered and coming with a special Commemorative Presentation video screen box containing an engraved plaque, the video and two sets of keys. Standard features of the Director included a 6.2 litre LS3 304kW/570Nm V8 engine hooked to a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifts, and HSV MRC (Magnetic Ride Control) suspension with selectable Touring or Performance-Track settings. Also fitted was an HSV selectable bi-modal exhaust, 20in Special Edition alloy wheels, upgraded Brembo cross drilled disc brakes and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Holden’s premium electronics went into the Director too of course, with selectable Driver Mode, forward collision and lane departure warning systems, heads-up display, sat nav, climate control, sunroof, rain sensing wipers, plus heated exterior memory mirrors and heated and memory seats. There was also an embroidered instrument panel with Director graphic, special body badging. This particular car is no 066 of 360 cars built. Always garaged it comes with books & history. Possible one of the lowest km car on the market and sensible priced at $89,999. Refer to Carsales. Will suit the fussiest of buyers. This is the car for any serious GMH collector.
