Very rarely seen on the market especially in Aust . A rare Lancia model, the 2000 HF derived from the Flavia models of the period 1971-1975. With Bosch fuel injection, the boxer 2-litre 4-cylinder HF developed 123BHP with 127lb.ft torque. The HF was essentially the last Lancia designed by the company before the acquisition by FIAT. Expensive, the Pininfarina-styled coupe was pitched to customers seeking high quality finish, technical sophistication, riding comfort and superior handling. Only 1,229 examples of the 2000 HF [High Fidelity] were produced. Of this total approximately 140 were delivered in RHD configuration, primarily to the UK. It is believed a very few of the 140 survive and there are possibly 4 only in Australia. This car was imported into the UK and sold to G.E. Harper Specialist Cars of Broadwater, Herts. In 1973, showing 7,265 miles, it was sold to Dr. John Hardman, an Australian dentist who privately imported the car to Australia in 1977 after touring the continent with his young family. In 1989, with 120,000 miles showing, Dr. Hardman sold the Lancia to Arnaldo Forrestieri, a Lancia mechanic who stored the car until 2014. The next owner was Ian Collett of Tamworth who undertook the car’s restoration. Now showing 123K miles, just 3K miles have been covered since restoration was completed in 2017. The current owner purchased the car in 2018 and drove it back from Tamworth to McLaren Vale, a distance of some 900 miles. He quoted "The drive was effortless, the handling impressive and economy noted " He split the trip in two, overnighting at Dubbo, but the final leg of some 700 miles was covered at an average of 55 MPH. Besides being totally trouble-free, at journey’s end he felt as though he had just driven to the post office and back. With matching numbers, the car features all-alloy body, four-wheel disc brakes, Cromodora alloy wheels, new Michelin 185 x 14 x 5.5 tyres, power steering, correct specification royal blue velour upholstery, power windows, 5-speed ZF gearbox, original toolkit and air horns. The original Veglia instruments are all in good working order, the speedometer is calibrated in both MPH and KM. Oil pressure and engine temperature run at the exact right levels. Accompanying the Lancia is a full folder of documentation including handbooks and the original UK rear number plate mount and yellow plate PEV-900M plus a new spare dashboard. The car did not at first meet the South Australian regulation that all cars built after January 1971 require a compliance plate. After engaging the services of a traffic engineer, the car is now certified compliant in SA and is registered on concessional registration. South Australian Identification Plate #2194 is now fitted to the car. Chassis Number: 820437001993 Engine Number: 820406005811 Number Plate not inc in sale . Back
