An excellent, next to complete original base for any enthusiast looking to own a unique Honda, dubbed the "Baby NSX" of the time, it is easy to see why. Don't be fooled by the kilometres! <10,000km/year is damn good! Featuring full mechanically driven four wheel steering, and complete with everything it came with from factory (except gear knob and factory radio). The car also features cool special order German made wheels with the Honda stamp, personally unseen on any other Prelude of the era. The original owner clearly adored the car, servicing it immaculately for his entire ownership since buying it from Honda in Adelaide. Sadly, the two short term owners prior to me didn't hold onto the same care and the car has faltered on reported service history in the last ~100,000kms. When I purchased the car, it got some love but deserves more in order to feel factory new. The engine is original, and still has original score marks, blows no smoke, and other than some tappet noise it starts and runs wonderfully. Behind the engine is a factory 5spd manual with what I understand (and feel) is its original clutch. * Prior manual experience is necessary for test drives for this reason * No rust in sunroof! and it operates immaculately, with a clean roof lining and uncracked dash, excellent carpet and no tears in seats. Car features original paint code stickers and has no signs of being repainted. Overall the electrics are flawless, and the headlights operate better than my first Prelude 10 years ago! Cons: Door cards have a slight wear on a metal frame edge that is barely visible when door is closed. A CV needs replacing, and though the 4WS operates well, I planned to do a full refresh. Had a slight leak out a hose join on the left side which I haven't rectified since it is no longer a daily. A/C not functioning. Spare used A/C unit included. Wipers work but washer bottle motor died and hoses need replacing. Aftermarket aerial not functioning. Suspension could use further love, particularly bushings. Shocks feel soft but overall operate well for age. Rear engine mount needs replacing. Will need mild bodywork, such as: front end rad support and bumper could need some final straightening after a soft hit, and rear boot and spoiler (included) will need repair (can blame a Hilux bulbar for that!). Rust has started showing through the paint under the fuel cap in recent months and will need attention. This car is currently sitting outside and does not deserve that, so I want it to go to someone who can keep it out the weather, as much as it is hard to part with. Happy to assist in taking the car to a RAA/Mechanic where reasonable for an inspection if requested. Additional photos can be sent via phone or email.
