Mileage 12666 Engine 2.2L - 6 cylinder Rego RYJ104 Just arrived - Special by name and special by nature, this 1957 Holden FE Special Sedan is now available at Collectable Classics. Well-known and even more well-loved, the FE Holden certainly helped carry Aussie Holden into the new age. Under long-term ownership, the current owners purchased this FE in 2008. Powered by the 2.2L 'grey' 6-cylinder motor and a 3-speed column shift manual transmission, this FE is an original Special model with plenty of work done to it. They pulled the FE right apart, cut out and welded areas that were rusted out. All panels were then applied with deoxidine and anti-rust sealed before receiving a bare metal respray. The interior was also stripped out, with soundproofing and new carpet going in while the seats remained original. More recently, the flywheel has been machined, a new clutch fitted, and new brake and clutch master cylinders fitted. Today, the FE is finished in its original Cabot Grey, with the original seats and a newer Sony radio equipped. The FE is complete with a small file of receipts and photos documenting the restoration process. As an older restoration, the car presents wonderfully, though certainly not new, and the interior could easily be tidied up to make a perfect vehicle.
