Mileage 12937 Engine 918cc - 4 Cylinder Rego TBA Just arrived - This 1938 Morris Eight is another great entry-level classic. The Morris Eight was a great success in its day, so much so it equated for almost 30% of the domestic market. Powered by a 918cc Morris 'UB' side-valve 4 cylinder motor with a 3 speed manual transmission, the Eight achieved a whole 23.5bhp (wow!). Unlike many of their competitors, the Eight received full instrumentation and an electric windscreen wiper motor. Under long-term ownership, the current owners have enjoyed their Morris Eight for the last 25 years. The car was an original SA vehicle that they purchased in the NT, which then moved down south with them some years later. The engine has received a full rebuild as well as the gearbox, and the differential has been renewed. Additionally fitted were telescopic shocks in the front, while the rear remains standard, and an electronic ignition. It received a respray approx. 15 years ago, and the interior was reupholstered prior to their ownership. They have loved and enjoyed the car, participating in car events and festivals, and now look for someone else to continue on the Morris' journey. We could certainly picture it escorting a Lady or Gent to the Distinguished Gentlemen's Drive and Bay to Birdwood.
