The FJ Holden was built from Oct 1953-July 1956

The FX got a facelift in 1953, the FJ, it was basically the same car with a few minor alterations to the body. The most obvious change was the rather boring FX vertical slat grille was replaced with an elegant finned and detailed version.

Models available were the base model Standard, and the new upmarket 'Special'. The Special got armrests, window winders, cigarette lighter, chrome instrument surrounds, chrome around the windows, chrome fins on the rear guards and was available with two tone paint.

The coupe utility was available again and in Dec 1953 a Panel Van became available as well.

This particular FJ comes with some amazing history including the original sales contract (Smiths Motor Co) from 1955 and the original books. Our clients purchased the ute from the original owners family many decades ago and we are delighted to be representing it on their behalf. Please note the running gear is all original and they confirm it was painted many years ago.
