This is the last of the final generation El Caminos, with only 861 Super Sport (SS) models produced. The SS package consisted of a large front air dam, matching painted sports mirrors, a black grille, black quarter window mouldings, a choice of paint accent on the lower body, rally wheels, and SS decals. This El Camino was imported into Australia in 2007 by a local South Australian owner. The car was stored until 2016, when it passed to its second Australian owners, Finch Restorations. Finch used the car as a promotional vehicle, trailering the car to shows and events until 2019, when it came time to get the car registered. Anti-intrusion bars were installed in the doors to comply with Australian design rules, and the car was finally registered in 2021. The El Camino is powered by a 305ci (5L) V8 engine and a 3-speed column shift automatic transmission. A wonderful colour combination, Finch repainted the vehicle in a stunning black, while the Saffron interior remains entirely original with its beautiful bench seat.
