Holden replaced the ageing EH with a stylish new family car in February 1965 featuring so-called “Space-Curve” bodywork clearly influenced by Opel in Germany. Taking on Ford’s latest XP Falcon, the HD was both wider and longer than its predecessor, with an extended range of engines and the new Powerglide automatic transmission with torque converter. Other improvements included better brakes (front discs were optional from May 1965) with an auto-adjustment, while the electrics were also revised, with an alternator replacing the generator found on earlier models. Holden’s engineers also revamped the suspension, dubbed the “Improved Red-Carpet Ride” by the marketing department.   This particular Premier comes with a great story. We originally sold this car back in 07 and we are thrilled to have it back in our fleet. We originally bought the car from the Estate of the original owner whom worked at GMH as a Foreman. He witness the car come down the line and it received some extra special treatment. Might be the reason why she still looks great today some 57 years later. A tidy example but certainly not new. Comes with the original books and loads of GMH history. Well priced under $40,000.   Contact Ben Finnis  - 0411 744 190 or 0418 920 920 Interstate transport can be arranged. Finance available.
