Mileage 27582 Engine 5L - V8 Rego RVB310 Just arrived - This 1979 Holden Commodore VB SL/E is great value for money. Moving on to more fuel-efficient markets since the Monaro, the VB was the first in the long reign of Commodores. Holden produced 95,906 units of the VB, and it ultimately became Australia's best-selling car in 1979. Among the option levels was the SL/E package, which included a 4.2L V8, 3 speed automatic transmission, air conditioning, power steering, retractable seat belts, Blaupunkt stereo radio cassette player, chrome exterior trim, velour trim, 4 wheel disc brakes and a few extras. This particular VB SL/E has received a large amount of work and comes with some wonderful history. This VB originally belonged to a Holden Dealer's collection and was auctioned off in 2016 in Canowindra with several other cars from Mr Charlie McCarron's collection. It was then purchased by the second owner, who spent a lot of time and money getting the car back to a road-worthy standard, with a new brake master and slave cylinders, all hoses, rust repairs, a respray in the original Flamenco Red, new carpet, fresh dash and chrome trim. The original 3 speed automatic was reconditioned along with the suspension, and all bushes, electronic distributor, starter motor, exhaust system and extractors were fitted. Now, after the third owner purchased the vehicle in 2023, the VB received an upgrade and currently runs a 5L V8. This motor was also optional in the SL/E therefore is period correct, and the car is registered here in SA with this motor. The car runs a treat with the 5L and has done minimal kms since the upgrade. Both the exterior and interior remain in wonderful condition since their restoration, and you could not restore it today for the sale price. It even comes with a Biante model car to match.
